James Allen was founded in 1998 by jeweler James Allen Schultz. Though the company ships internationally, customers can make an appointment to view merchandise at one of two company offices in New York.
James Allen offers diamond studs, pendants, gemstones, pearls and a variety of other jewelry. The focus of the brand is on engagement and wedding rings. Providing conflict-free diamonds is an important goal of the brand, and as a result the company manufactures most of the diamonds that they sell.
James Allen carries a range of diamonds (you can read indepth reviews of James Allen Jewelers here), from high grade diamonds, representing only 3% of diamonds available to more affordable solutions.
Solitaire, contemporary and matching sets are a few of the styles offered for engagement and wedding rings. Wedding rings are available in gold, silver and platinum. Customers can also design their own. Engraving is offered for free.

Men’s rings come with a comfort fit, and include distinguished accents such as black diamonds and black and white tungsten carbide. Women’s wedding wings range from the traditional to the carved and eternity wedding bands. Ranging from .25 to 2 carats, buyers have a plethora of options suitable for a variety of budgets.

All international customers must pay by bank wire. Customers that pay by bank wire receive a 1.5% discount. For customers in the US, credit cards, personal checks and money orders are accepted. An interest-free financing program is available. James Allen ships to domestic, international and military locations via FedEx Overnight, FedEx Two-Day Saver or USPS.
James Allen offers a comprehensive return policy with many guarantees should the final product not be to the buyer’s satisfaction, albeit with certain conditions. Buyers may return their merchandise within 60 days for a full refund (no restocking fees) and obtain free return shipping. Returns are only available to customers in the USA.
